Interview Etiquette of the Successful
Interview etiquette is absolutely imparitive if you plan on getting the job you are interviewing for.
There is protocol that must be followed and most of it is very basic stuff.
The number one thing that you must know is to send a thank you letter to the interviewer immediately after the interview.
I always try to include some of the points we covered in the interview and make a last stab at a great impression.
Some other interview etiquette that you need to know and follow is dress properly. The rule is conservative. Men should wear well pressed shirt and tie and shoes should be well polished.
Ladies should wear non-revealing, well fitting clothing with conservative hair style.
In my opinion, one of the most important techniques that you must know is how to exude confidence. This is accomplished with a firm handshake, direct eye contact and positive answers.
There is nothing more disconcerting than shaking hands with a fish. Men and women alike should practice adding a little firmness to their handshakes and watch the difference in how you get treated.
The last thing I want you to know and know well is the neccessity of asking for the job. When the interview is winding to a close and parting words are being said, be sure to tell the interviewer how impressed you are with the company and what you have heard and that you would like to have an opportunity to work for such a great team... ask them what the next step is.
Be sure and read my job interview advice which contains other surefire methods for getting the interview and the job.
