Tulsa Oklahoma, the "oil capital of the world" and second largest city in Oklahoma, is a city of great opportunity and is known for its sense of diversity. Nestled neatly in northeast Oklahoma it is a city of many trees, parks, streams, and historic landmarks.
I remember the first time I lived in Tulsa. I had decided to go to school at Spartan School of Aeronautics and get my A&P license as well as attend the flight school and obtain a commercial pilot's license.
I remember being overwhelmed by the big city and it's beautiful scenery along with so many things to do and so many things to see.
I would often drive out to Mohawk park in the afternoons and do homework as the squirrels played in the trees all around me. I could hear the elephants trumpeting and the swans calling from the Tulsa zoo less than a quarter mile away.
Things have not changed much in Tulsa Oklahoma. I now live in Sapulpa, one of Tulsa's finest neighbors. My family and I do most of our shopping locally but when it comes time to play and have fun we often drive the seven miles to Tulsa for the occasion.
The Tulsa Oklahoma area has a population of more than 750,000 residents and all of them are the friendliest people on Earth. If you don't believe it then just ask them and they will smile and say, "of course!"
Tulsa Oklahoma has some of the finest Tulsa shopping available anywhere with Woodland Hills mall and Promenade mall and we must not forget Eastland mall as well.
Other shopping centers such as "The Farm" make Tulsa Oklahoma wonderful place to be especially at christmas time.
Then there is the food... you will never go anywhere that has so much variety. From Indian restaurants to Chinese to Hawaiian to Italian, Tulsa has it all and it is the finest in the world. Some of my favorites include Bennigans, Charleston's, Bourbon Street Cafe, India Palace, and Hideaway Pizza.
Tulsa Oklahoma also offers many opportunities for performing arts, from the nationally recognized Tulsa Ballet to Tulsa Opera, the Tulsa symphonic orchestra, and numerous local theater groups. One can enjoy touring Broadway shows, Shakespeare in the Park, children’s theater and a myriad of other productions in outdoor amphitheaters.
Located right in the center of the bible belt, there are a great many Tulsa churches of various denominations to allow your family to worship in a church of your choosing.
I could just go on and on about all the things that I love about Tulsa but you have to be here to truly appreciate it.
